The Official Reasons · Ranked by how often we say them out loud
Why though?
You clicked a button labelled "why though." That is the most honest market research we have ever collected. Here is the full answer, at a length the question frankly does not deserve.
01Because we asked.
Nobody just asks. Brands invite you on journeys. Startups democratise things. Influencers build communities that are somehow also funnels. We stood in the middle of the internet and said "give us your money" with no costume on. It has never been tried. We checked. We didn't check. But it feels true.
02Because everything else charges you and lies about it.
The free app is selling your attention. The discount is a price that was raised last Tuesday. The loyalty programme is a spreadsheet that owns you. We removed every layer and kept only the part all of them were built to hide: the bit where your money moves to us. You may find the honesty refreshing. Refreshment is not included.
03Because you have spent more on worse.
The coffee that went cold while you answered one email. The gym membership that peaked on the 4th of January. The in-app gems. The domain name for the idea. The second domain name for the rebrand of the idea. At least we are upfront that nothing happens next. Your other purchases made you find that out yourself.
04Because honesty turned out to be a niche.
We surveyed the market for businesses that promise nothing and deliver it flawlessly, every time, with a 100% success rate since inception. The niche was unoccupied. We moved in. The rent was one domain name and a payment-gateway onboarding form, which asked us what we sell. We wrote "nothing." They approved it. We think about that a lot.
05Because the transaction actually ends.
Most purchases leave a residue. Packaging. Onboarding emails. A feedback survey about the feedback survey. Regret, arriving in 3–5 business days. Ours ends the moment it begins. You pay, nothing happens, and both of us are free to get on with our lives. It is the shortest customer journey ever designed. We are considering framing it.
06Because it is funny.
A receipt for nothing is a punchline you can keep. Somewhere in your payment history, between the groceries and the electricity bill, there will be a line that says GiveUsYourMoney, and future-you will see it and remember that present-you was, briefly, magnificent.
07Because you are still reading.
You are seven reasons deep into a section called Why Though. At this point the question is answering itself.
The Decision Framework · Peer-reviewed (by us)
DO YOU HAVE MONEY?
├── YES → GIVE US SOME.
├── NO → WE RESPECT THAT. THE PAGE WILL WAIT.
└── UNSURE → CHECK. WE'LL BE HERE. THEN SEE "YES".
Framework version 1.0 · No further versions planned · It is already perfect.
Reasons NOT to give us money — yes, we maintain this list too. Honesty cuts both ways.
01You have rent. Rent wins. This is not a close contest and we refuse to pretend otherwise.
02Actual charities exist. They do actual things for actual people. We are not one of them, we have never claimed to be one of them, and if you are choosing between us and them, choose them. We mean this.
03Nothing arrives. It bears repeating. People keep asking about shipping. There is no shipping. There is nothing to ship.
04₹18 of every ₹118 you give goes to GST. The government participates in this joke whether it wants to or not. The rest goes to chai and the server this page is on. That is the entire supply chain.
They gave money.
We gave them a wall.
